A New Start

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Purple is Out
Princess is Too
Welcome to “My Violet Tendencies” formerly known as “Purple Princes Knits.” Violet is the new Purple and the Princess thing is so 90’s.
I am a passionate knitter who owns a respectable amount of incredibly scrumptious yarn. At a glance my yarn stash clearly favors the reds, blues and purples. One might say my yarn holdings are a bit on the “Violet” side. One could even take it a step further and say my penchant for collecting those certain colors of yarn suggests “Violet Tendencies.”
NEW NAME; NEW BLOG; NEW OUTLOOK ….NEW ME, not really… but every new startup should have a new mission statement so this leads into mine;
- This blog is about “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” or sharing photos and comments about my KNITTING LIFE, as I work to LIBERATE the STASH (knitting it, selling it, gifting it, using it etc) while I strive to lead a balanced HAPPY life.
Here is my latest and greatest project. I recently started knitting the Storyteller Hoodie.
I am using Madeline Tosh Vintage yarn.
LOVE the yarn; LOVE the color. The yarn’s varying shades of gray are pleasing to look at and will add a nice look to the finished project. Since this is the first project I have worked on since I hurt my neck last October, I decided to choose something simple yet fun.
The pattern is easy to follow. It is knit in one piece up to the armholes. The hood will be knit from the neck up. There is a picked up and knitted garter rib border. The cap sleeves are picked up and knit in the round so the only sewing to do on this project is the shoulder and hood grafts. It is a fun fast pattern to knit.
I am HAPPY to be knitting again and Life is good.
